Quintessential student bar. Loud, crowded, eternally sticky - but that's all to be expected. Some fun drinks, and bar/kitchen staff are nice. Not great for dancing - dance floor is small, and music is mediocre.
I would like to send a thank you to The Social Pub, the manager Cole you were absolutely wonderful !! We hosted my aunt's celebration of life there this last Saturday, and it couldn't have been more perfect. The food was inexpensive and amazing. All the staff that were there went above and beyond to cater to us. My family will be forever grateful I would recommend this place to host any kind of benefit or celebration you definitely won't be disappointed thank you to all.
Marsh provides the best service! She is always the highlight of my night and can always put a smile on my face! Makes amazing drinks and gets them to me fast! Love her bingo nights for a great time with friends!
On September 19th I went to the Social for trivia night and it was so cold i could hear my teeth chattering. Marshall the server/bartender was so kind and built me a fireplace to keep my entire table warm. Through the whole night Marshall dedicated his whole night to the social clientele. I watched Marshall save a kitten stuck in a tree, helped an elderly lady cross the road and lastly most amazing of all he helped deliver a baby and as a reward the baby was named Marshall. The service at the social was beyond amazing 10/10 would recommend. Would like to clarify once again it was the blond man named Marshall!
Got kicked out after getting into an altercation that was not my fault. Ended up being kicked out which I was fine with . Got told I couldn’t walk any other way home than the way security told me to. Ended up meeting up with the same group of guys due to your securities directions. If I just went home I wanted to I’m sure I would be fine. 100% taking legal action against the social pub and also the scums who did this for absolutely no reason in the social bar: not a friendly place just filled with raging coke heads on a ego boost
Racist bouncers, wearing poor quality cowboy hats, denied re-entry of my Indian friend due implicit biases. Rejected him and not myself (who had more drinks than he) due to his appearance. Spent countless years at this bar, but due to the mentality incompetent power tripping bouncers, will never step foot in it again. Numerous better options downtown Ptbo such as the Historic Red Dog, 180, Spanky's, McThirsty's, Maple Moose, and the Junction, are available for a great night. Would never recommend this inadequate venue to anyone.
Racist bouncers did not let me back in, when I said I had like 2-3 drinks. They said I cannot count even though I have a Mechatronics Engineering degree. I have been to this bar numerous times before but these bouncers were clearly racist, as they let my white friends back in, even though they had more to drink than I did. I felt pure discrimination and unjust behaviour against me from the clearly incompetent bouncer with the beard and cowboy hat. Would not recommend this venue for a fun night out in Ptbo.
The let us in 20 mins before a private party ended. Wow, food amazing, service was great.
